If a picture is worth a thousand words, then the photo on the the left speaks volumes about me and the lengths to which I'll go to get my clients "the" shot.
I've been a photographer since 1973 and studied photography at Florida State's College of Fine Arts. I've also had the privilege of learning from industry giants like Joe McNally, Moose Peterson, and Dave Black, to name just a few.
I started out as a staff photographer for FSU's daily newspaper. I learned photojournalism and how to produce quality work under deadlines. I loved it.
I'm a sports photographer who is equally comfortable shooting a model portfolio, crawling through the woods to capture a pair of grizzlies, or spending all night in my observatory imaging nebulas and galaxies.
I understand the nuances of most sports. That helps me anticipate action and position myself for the defining moments in a game.
I'm a Photoshop geek. If I can't create something in-camera, it never ceases to amaze me what I can do unleashing the power of Photoshop's tools and a full compliment of plug-ins.
I'm humbled that the editors of Photoshop User Magazine asked me to author two articles that were published, including a cover story. I've also authored several Guest Blog posts for Scott Kelby's Photoshop Insider Blog. My last post was chosen by Scott as one of his "Best Guest Blog Posts of 2016".
I'm based in Tallahassee, Florida. I love living in a college town surrounded by hills, woods, and canopy roads. It's very peaceful.
I died on September 25, 2015 and was brought back to life by my son who did CPR until the EMT's arrived. You might say I gave my son life and he returned the favor. Thankfully, I fully recovered within a couple of months.
My friends tell me that I am the most passionate person they have ever met.
I'm grateful to these clients for giving me the chance to work for them. I've also been very fortunate to have had a chance to shoot these sporting events, among others. Finally, although I don't keep track of all my published images, here are some I have seen and kept.
